Hainesport Chiropractor Says Try This Amazing "FAST"

Good Evening, this is Dr. Mike. Breaking news updates

Suburban woman fatally stabbed by her ex-boyfriend, airline goes down: passengers dead, Man robbed at gun point, family loses everything in a house fire, Man accused of animal cruelty, Young child brutally beat, Terrorist group captures hundreds of people and holds them hostage, Bombing in major metropolitan area, ETC.

Welcome to the daily “news”.

How do those above headlines make you feel?

Sad, helpless, angry, a loss of hope in humanity, or like the world is a bad place?
Pretty crappy I would imagine. It’s all NEGATIVE news that many people willingly consume on a daily basis. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of the negative impact that feeding your mind with this garbage can have on their well-being.

Believe it or not but what you consume, whether it be food, TV, internet, music, etc., has a major impact on your health and well-being.

You nourish your mind just like you nourish your body. If you put junk in guess what you are going to get out? That’s right, JUNK!

Let me give you a recent example from my life.

I WILLINGLY choose not to watch, read or consume any type of the doom and gloom news.

It’s not that I don’t care or that I want to be ignorant to current events. Rather it’s because the negativity on the news sucks the life and happiness right out of me.

I care about what’s going on in the world but with all of the horrible events that are shared with us, what can I really do? Let them tear me down and make me feel horrible?I can pray, send donations, send well wishes, etc. which is all good and helps me do my part. But by focusing on this negativity, gossiping about it, getting into heated debates about what happened etc. does nothing to help the situation. It only makes me feel worse.By me allowing these negative events to take hold of my mind they would only lead me to believing that the world is a terrible place and that there is no good. I however know differently.

Fortunately or unfortunately I get my news second hand from others during regular conversation or a headline catches my attention while browsing the internet or social media. I can’t completely escape the media negativity but I do a pretty darn good job of minimizing it.

A News Story I Couldn’t Resist

Well last week I awoke to my social media pages being flooded with news headlines, comments, and pictures about a man stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death. There was no escaping it. Plus, being that this occurred in the town I grew up in and it adversely impacted friends of ours who were close friends with the victim I was naturally curious and did something I generally do not do. I read the articles and watched the news clips.

HORRIBLE! The entire story was horrible, my friends and all people intimately involved with the two individuals all feel horrible and I not being directly involved at all felt horrible after consuming what the media offered up.

For the next few days after the story broke I was sucked in and consuming what the media had to offer. I felt sorry for those involved. I felt anger toward the taking of an innocent life. I felt terrible for my friends who lost a dear friend. I felt scared at one point knowing that the killer was still on the run and I felt sad about the entire situation and wondering what is happening in the world.

During this time I just didn’t feel good.

I didn’t feel like my usual self. It was a feeling that I’m not normally used to feeling and not one that I particularly enjoyed.

Now let me be clear. What I experienced is nothing compared to those intimately involved with the story. I am using this story and the “impact” that it had on me as a teachable moment.

Negativity will suck the life right out of you and prevent you from feeling your best.

And have you ever noticed that when you’re not feeling your best and there is negativity in your life that you seem to attract more of it?

We all know those people in our lives that are constantly wondering when they will catch a break. Everything that could go wrong seems to go wrong for them. They are a glass is half empty kind of person.

The reason why?

It’s because they continually focus in on the negative in their life which only perpetuates the cycle.

What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.

For the sake of your health don’t willingly consume negativity!

A 7 Day Media “Fast”

My health optimizing challenge for you this week is to take AT LEAST a 7 Day media “fast”!

Ditching the negative news indefinitely would be great but let’s start with just 7 days.

That means no TV news, no newspapers, no internet articles, no conversations with others on current events, no gossiping etc.

If you find yourself around this negative stuff remove yourself from the situation.

Instead replace it with inspirational quotes and stories, healthy conversations with friends about the good stuff in their lives, a good motivational book, etc.

When you take a step back and start actively recognizing the negativity that surrounds you on a daily basis you’ll be absolutely amazed.

On the flip side you’ll be amazed at how much good there actually is in the world and how much better you feel when you surround yourself with positivity.

So remove all of the negativity from your life for the next 7 days and let me know if you notice a difference.

I promise that you will be ok without the news and besides so what if you miss the weather. They are wrong most of the time anyway ?!

A Profound Positive Impact

Years ago this concept of not letting the negative media into my life was introduced to me and since then it has kind of stuck. It has had a profound positive impact on the way I feel as well as how I view life.

I find something good in every situation and it helps to lift me up. Sometimes I have to dig pretty darn deep to find the good in the situation but I eventually find it.

Upon rising each day I look at it like I have two choices. I can either be HAPPY or MISERABLE. For me being HAPPY and POSITIVE makes me a more productive individual and allows me to bring more POSITIVITY to those that I serve.

So I would like to encourage you to “fast” (indefinitely ideally) from consuming negativity and replace it with consuming everything positive.

Not only is life like a box of chocolates but it is also like a bowl of cherries.

“Life is a bowl of cherries. Some cherries are rotten while others are good; it’s your job to throw out the rotten ones and forget about them while you enjoy eating the ones that are good! There are two kinds of people: those who choose to throw out the good cherries and wallow in all the rotten ones, and those who choose to throw out all the rotten ones and savor all the good ones.”
C. JoyBell C.

Be the person who throws out the rotten cherries. It will make you a healthier, happier and more productive person who will attract more good into your life!
